Filmmaking and Cinematography Techniques of Blade Runner 2049, a must watch for all film-making students out there and for those who want to know more about film-making.
This video doesn’t talk about what cameras (specs) were used but talks about camera movements, use of color, use of light, and so on.
- Tracking shot where the camera follows characters through hallways, allows the audience to sub consciously enjoy the three-dimensional world.
- Subtle punch-in (punch-in dolly). this is when the camera moves closer but only slightly. The movement is repeated every-time the director wants to draw the attention of the audience to something important.
- Tracking sideways: like gliding, there is music playing in the background and you are meant to be swept away, enjoying the moment.
